It depends on where the powerpoint is going and how far we need to run cable from the nearest circuit. A straightforward add-on in a standard wall is at the cheaper end; runs through double brick or to a detached area cost more. We inspect on site and give you a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

It could be a tripped safety switch, a failed outlet, a loose connection behind the plate, or a fault elsewhere on the circuit. Check your switchboard first; if the safety switch keeps tripping or the outlet is still dead, it needs a licensed electrician to diagnose. We find the fault and quote the fix on the spot.

No. In Queensland all fixed wiring work, including replacing a powerpoint, must be done by a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work is illegal, voids insurance, and is genuinely dangerous. Our work is carried out under Electrical Contractor Licence 1502980 and tested before we leave.

They can be. Discolouration, cracking, buzzing, or a powerpoint that's warm to the touch are all signs of loose connections or arcing behind the plate, which is a fire risk. Older homes also often lack safety switch (RCD) protection on power circuits; we can check this at your switchboard while we're there.
